FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A sprint-like event where participants team up and create solutions to real-life challenges in an intense period of time. Using creativity, technology and mentoring, the week results in prototypes, fresh new concepts and innovation.

This event of Yettel is a two-round hackathon looking for students, fresh graduates or early stage startuppers who are willing to solve the challenges given by Yettel.

  1. Find your teammates. Or apply solo, and ask to be added to a brand new team if you want. Lone wolves are also welcome.
  2. Register between the 10th of October and th 1st of November!
  3. Create a project to one of the two projects, and submit is until the 1st of November!
  4. Wait for the jury's announcement - you need to be chosen to get into the finalists!
  5. If you get into the finalists, join us in the Millenáris, and continue working your project!
  6. Take home your prize!
  • Choose from one of the challenges that will be shared with you on the 10th of October.
  • Work on your project and submit it until the 1st of November!

We will get back to you if your project got into the finals a few days after of the submission deadline.

In optimal circumstances Yettel jury will choose the 4 best teams / challenge to be invited to the final. However, if there are less than 4 projects submitted to any of the challenges, there will not be a challenge prize given in that challenge, an getting to the final is not automatic. Yettel jury will decide wheter those projects have a place in tge final or not.

BMillenáris Budapest Building D and only the best 12 teams (chosen by the jury) will be able to attend.

At the end of the 24-hour-long final each of the 12 teams will get the chancee to pitch their idea in 4 minutes. After the live pitches are over, the jury and the participants can vote for their favourite project, and the one that gets the most votes will be awarded the grand prize.

It is possible to win a Challenge Prize, the Grand Prize and the Audience Award. The only thing that's not possible is winning more than one Challenge Prize, since all of teams can submit their project to no more than one challenge.

Yes, you can enter the hackathon for free.

The hackathon is only for hungarian participants or students studying in Hungary currently and have a Hungarian TAX number. Although, we accept registrations from other countries as well, please note that only those teams can take home prizes where at least one of the members posseses a Hungarian TAX number.

The event’s language is English from start to finish, including the mentorings and the pitch sessions.

Just simply register via the Junction site and choose No when asked if you’re applying as a team.

You can have up to 5 or only 1 team member as you wish, it’s up to you. If you’re looking for brand new team members, head to Slack.

As a team lead:

  1. Registering via the Junction site, choose Yes when asked if you’re applying as a team.
  2. Click the ☰ icon in the top left corner of the page and go to Team page.
  3. Click „Create a new team”.
  4. The platform will generate a unique team code. Send this to your team members using mail or any other method. It is not possible to share the code directly via Junction.

As a team member:

  1. Registering via the Junction site, choose Yes when asked if you’re applying as a team.
  2. Click the ☰ icon in the top left corner of the page and go to Team page.
  3. Insert the code to „Join an existing team”. If you haven’t received a code from your team lead, ask them to re-check these instructions.

It’s not possible to share through the Junction App, so please share the team code between all team members for example by email.

Unfortunately, you can not. One project can only be submitted for one challenge!
